Subject Title
Managing Difficult Behaviours in the Classroom

Subject Description
Students will learn intervention strategies and environmental adaptations to reduce problematic behaviours in the classroom. Students will discuss and evaluate a variety of procedures and techniques used to manage difficult behaviours.

Credit Status
One credit toward Working with Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder Recognition of Achievement Certificate.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Describe and evaluate a variety of procedures and techniques used to manage difficult behaviours in the classroom.

2. Explain intervention strategies to help reduce problematic behaviours.

3. Discuss ways to adapt the environment to optimize the learning success of children with ASD in the classroom.

4. Demonstrate an awareness of the causes and prevention of difficult behaviours.
