Subject Title
Corsetry and Bra Making

Subject Description
Students apply basic sewing principles and techniques to the creation of bras and corset foundation garments. Students are introduced to methods of pattern-drafting and construction techniques for a selection of styles. Emphasis is on custom fitting challenges and determining the proper style to meet the individual's comfort and functional needs. Access to a zigzag machine is required.

Credit Status
This ia an elective credit in the Fashion Certifcate Program.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Discuss the development of under garments.

2. Identify a selection of styles, their corresponding functions and recommended figure type.

3. Develop bra and corset patterns.

4. Take proper measurements and make fitting adjustments.

5. Produce a bra and corset project.
