Subject Title
Pattern Making Level III

Subject Description
This subject builds on the knowledge and skills learned in DCP120 & DCP220. The student is introduced to more advanced pattern making skills, including the pant and raglan sleeves. This subject also covers blocks and patterns for jackets, including two piece sleeve and notched collar.

Credit Status
One elective credit in the Fashion Certificate Program.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Design and produce pants of various styles.

2. Develop and produce raglan patterns from sleeve blocks.

3. Produce a traditional jacket block.

4. Produce a stylized traditional jacket pattern with notched collar, including a lining pattern.

It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the prerequisites are met.  If you do not have the required prerequisite subject (or have an advanced standing for the prerequisite subject) you will be asked to withdraw with the risk of academic and/or financial penalty.

Modes of Evaluation
As stated in Academic Policy, a student must successfully complete all major segments of a subject in order to earn a passing grade. Students who have not passed the term work may not be permitted to write the final examination.

Final Project (Tailored Jacket) 30%

** Project due dates will be confirmed by the Instructor.


No student will be eligible to graduate with a Seneca College certificate or diploma if, in more than 30% of the subjects required for graduation, the student has received a "D" grade.
