Subject Title
Custom Block Making

Subject Description
Endless styling and design possibilities exist when students have their own comprehensive and verified blocks. This subject integrates accurate measuring and personal fitting techniques enabling students to draft a complete set of customized master blocks. Using a step-by-step approach, students produce a custom fitted set of blocks that include bodices, skirts, sleeves and pants.

Credit Status
One credit toward the Pattern Making Recognition of Achievement.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Accurately take body measurements.

2. Conduct a thorough,individual custom fitting.

3. Draft and fit customized front and back bodice, skirt and pant blocks.

4. Produce a custom balanced sleeve block.

MINIMUM PERFORMANCE FOR GRADUATION
No student will be eligible to graduate with a Seneca College certificate or diploma if, in more than 30% of the subjects required for graduation, the student has received a "D" grade.
