Subject Title
NFPA1001 Firefighter 1 & 2 Practical Workshops

Subject Description
This workshops covers mock interviews with full time municipal Platoon Chiefs and Senior Staff who know how to prepare you for the most important interview of your life. Students will be advised in advance of the dress code for this workshop.

Credit Status
Successful completion of the Official Skill Sheets for Practical Skills Testing, NFPA 1001, Chapter 5 & Chapter 6, 2013 Edition will prepare the student for Stage 3 of the OFAI Technical Skills Assessment Testing. This practical training is a requirement for students enrolled in FPG012; Pre-Graduate Experience with the Faculty of Continuing Education.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Prepare for the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFMEM) Practical Skills Certification Tests.
2. Prepare for the Ontario Fire Administration Inc. (OFAI) Skills Assessment.
3. Successfully demonstrate practical skills required for NFPA 1001 Firefighter I and Firefighter 
     II, 2013 Edition.
4. Experience working together as a team to complete requirements of a firefighter career.
5. Achieve competency in firefighting skills by training with industry professionals.

Modes of Evaluation
Practical consolidation of skills as per NFPA 1001 FFI, FFII, 2013 Edition.
Grading Policy
80% attendance and successful completion of practical skills and tests are required by the Office of the Fire Marshal to receive a SAT grade for this subject for FPG012 students. Workshop students’ attendance is required to achieve a competency level for successful OFMEM testing.
