Subject Title
Contact Lens Instrumentation Refresher

Subject Description
This subject includes a review of contact lens instruments for Intern Opticians preparing to take the Registration Examinations. Students review procedures for the operation of the slit lamp and keratometer.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1.  Recall the protocol for ocular examination using the slit lamp and keratometer.

2.  Demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a keratometer.

3.  Accurately measure and record corneal curvature.

4.  Demonstrate the primary slit lamp illuminations used in the ocular examination.

5.  Recall the protocol for performing a routine six-month follow up contact lens examination.
