Subject Title
Ocular Pathology Identification Refresher

Subject Description
This subject provides a review of common ocular pathology and common contact lens anomalies for Intern Opticians preparing to take the Registration Examinations.  From a presentation of slides students examine anterior segment complications of the eye and external adnexa.  Adverse ocular conditions related to contact lens fitting are highlighted.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Identify an anterior segment pathology from a presentation of slides.

2. Identify contact lens anomalies and recognize various stain patterns.

3. Recommend appropriate referral or aftercare for contact lens related ocular condition.

Mode of Instruction
Students will review a selection of ocular pathology slides and contact lens fits.  Learners will discuss the accurate slide identification and appropriate aftercare.
