Subject Title
PAD System Pattern Design and Grading

Subject Description

This course is an introduction to computer aided design using PAD System Software.  Students will digitize patterns, manipulate basic blocks, grade and create piece lists using the software to meet industry needs.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:


1.      1.  Digitize and input hard paper pattern for digital processing.
2. Draft a simple pattern entirely on screen.
3. Modify an existing pattern to create a completely new design.
4. Grade patterns by using the software tools.
5. Import and export to other fashion CAD programs and Illustrator.

  •    Digitizing process and input from digitized files
  •    Creating new blocks on screen
  •    Developing and modifying new styles from block in Plan / Pieces view
  •    Working with technical Sketches and Specs for pattern developing and correction
  •    Grading tools and Functions
  •    New Style patterns preparation for the Production with Cloning options
  •    Plotting menu and Options
  •    Exporting and importing to other systems
  •    PAD System data management
