Holiday Photo Contest
The holiday season is a great time to connect with people far and wide and to re-connect with people we've lost touch with. Career Services sends a Seasons Greetings e-card to industry partners and to companies that have posted jobs for students or and grads on SenecaWorks to thank them and to keep connected.
We currently have over 21,000 employers registered with us on SenecaWorks and the number is growing every day. This year Career Services and Co-op ran a Holiday Card Contest asking all full-time and part-time students to submit a photo depicting a holiday or winter theme that would be incorporated into the card. Talented photographers submitted photos to us and we found it difficult to pick just one, but we decided Steven's photograph of the red cardinal in the snowy setting was the perfect image.

Steven got into photography approximately seven years ago. He first took pictures of everything but then focused on birding while he was studying biology because his teacher was an avid bird watcher. He would take walks in different parks such Colonel Samuel Smith Park, High Park and James Gardens discovering so many different types of birds. All these types of birds that are all around us, which we don't notice unless we look for them. He found it a relaxing and exciting hobby at the same time.
His interest in the outdoors and photography led to his application to the Environmental Technology program at Seneca as he cares deeply about preserving nature and the environment.
Season's greetings from all of us!
