Complete Your Skills Assessment Testing

As a new Seneca student you must make an appointment to write the skills assessment test, even if you have already written a pre-admissions test. Getting your first-term timetable depends on a completed assessment of English/Mathematics subjects. Call 416.491.5050 ext. 6868 to schedule your appointment or visit the Skills Assesment page for more information.

Q: Why do I need to write a test if I’ve already been admitted?
A: The purpose of the test is to determine which English and Math course you should be taking in your first year. You have already been admitted and the results of the assessment do not affect your admission in any way.

Q: What’s involved?
A: A short handwritten essay and a multiple choice computer test designed to assess your reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

Q: How long does it take and when do I do it?
A: The assessment lasts approximately 3 hours. You must complete the assessment three weeks after the date of your acceptance letter to avoid late fees. The sooner you do it, the sooner you’ll receive your class schedule.
