In joining the Residence Community you have the chance to make living on campus what you want and how you want! We have many opportunities and variety of ways in which everyone can join and be part of it all! Below you will find a listing of all the variety of groups and opportunities available here in Residence! All our Volunteer teams work as part of our Social Orientation Staff.
The Residence Crew is a volunteer program put together to benefit the local community. These volunteers work under the Social Orientation Staff or SOS Team and run monthly events in the community. These events may include: Toys for Tots, Soup Kitchens, Food and Clothing Drives, Community Pot Lucks, Various Charitable Events (Run for Life, AIDS Walk, Etc.), Blood Drives
Resident Ambassadors are individuals who are available during our Orientation Week, Open Houses and other VIP events to provide Residence tours to new or prospective students.
Activity Volunteers are available to help run building wide programming for residence. These volunteers move into residence early in an effort to create a welcoming and community atmosphere upon move in. Various fundraising events are run to help lowers costs for building wide programming. These events may include: Taco/Pasta Nights & Residence BBQ’s, Sunday Sundaes & Candy Grams, Residence Dances and Themed Movie Nights
Sports in Residence Volunteers are passionate about sports and intramurals in residence. Whether you like to watch, organize or participate in sports this group is for you. This council will work closely with the Seneca Rec. Council and be active in promoting Varsity and Intramural Games.
Residence and the Arts Volunteers are passionate about arts, theatre and special interest activities. They are committed to providing fun, high quality programming the focus’ on the Arts: dramatic arts (plays and theatrical performances), music arts (jam sessions and talent shows), literary arts (poetry readings and creative forums), visual arts (arts showcase). This group will organize events centered around the above and will present a minimum of one (1) program per month.
Residence Newsletter/Advertising Team. This group if formed to help present a monthly newsletter for the residence. Do you have an interest in Journalism? Then is opportunity is for you! If journalism is not your cup of tea, how about promotions and marketing? Get a head start on working on different advertising campaigns by helping promote various events and programs!
