
In 2005, Seneca responded to the need for a postsecondary educational institution in Markham and York Region by opening its Markham Campus. The new Markham Campus is home to centres for Business & Research Intelligence, Research & Innovation, and a corporate training centre.
This new campus gives everyone who lives and works in Markham a local alternative for improving themselves and their employment opportunities. By 2008, more than 3,500 students will study at the Markham Campus.
It is located in the former Allstate Insurance Building in the centre of Markham’s business corridor and offers career-building and training opportunities as well as facilities and research partnerships aimed at attracting small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Programs offered at the Markham Campus include brand management and tourism and travel.
A group of Markham-area business leaders has come together to lend its support to Seneca’s $10 million Markham Campus capital appeal.
Under the co-chairmanship of David Tsubouchi and former Markham Mayor, Don Cousens, the Markham Fundraising Cabinet will work with Seneca, local businesses and government to help raise the $10 million needed to support the renovations and capital infrastructure of the new Markham Campus.
