Student bursaries

Donors can support Seneca students both today and in the years to come though contributions to scholarship and bursary endowments. Seneca has a long and proud history of supporting access to post-secondary education through a strong financial aid program.

The vital permanent endowment for student financial aid continues to grow through contributions from donors, revenue from student and alumni initiatives and matching grant support towards endowed bursaries from the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS).

Thanks to the generosity of Seneca’s many donors, we have raised more money than any other college in Ontario.

This means that the funds available to the College, helped by the OTSS matching program, have gone up. Way up.

When the OTSS was established, Seneca was assigned an annual target of $478,000 to receive matching funds. Now, Seneca’s fundraising ceiling is $923,372 – the highest in the college sector.

We’ve come a long way.

And because Seneca surpassed the Ontario government’s fundraising target, we were awarded additional matching funds from the government’s unused surplus.

In the days ahead, if Seneca is able to secure $932,000 in student bursary donations, we will trigger a two-to-one OTSS match to a maximum of $890,000. This would mean a combined total of $1,814,000 towards student aid endowments.

Now, more than ever, our students need your support. Help us reach this new target and set the fundraising standard for colleges across the province.

Consider a gift to one of the College’s endowments. Your contribution, regardless of size, could be doubled – even tripled – by the Ontario government and change the life of a student for the better.
