Exemptions

Applicants who have completed TESL 1 in a TESL Canada approved program may be eligible for exemption from TESL 1. Please submit a copy of your certificate, a detailed subject outline and daily breakdown of course hours, including detailed information about the practicum component. Because TESL Canada Standard 1 courses may have different content and require fewer practicum hours than our TESL 1 program, you may be required to complete an additional practicum component and assignments to cover missing curriculum content. Please submit all required documents, a completed application form and Comparative Review fee of $100 to be considered for exemption.
