RE: Strike update – back-to-work legislation
The Ontario government has announced it will introduce legislation to end the strike by academic employees and send the unresolved dispute to an arbitrator.

This means classes will resume soon, but the exact date will depend on how quickly the Legislature deals with the issue. We hope the legislators recognize the importance of passing the bill quickly.

We have been working on plans for each program to help you complete your semester and honour travel commitments, where possible. When you are back in class, we will be sharing those plans with you. We will also have many staff here to support you when you return to school.

Classes will continue to Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. If the legislation is passed quickly, we may be able to avoid extending the semester into January.

On behalf of all of us at Seneca, I want to thank you for the patience and understanding you have shown throughout this challenging time.

I look forward to welcoming you back.
