Support a better transit system
The Greater Toronto Area has one of the worst commute times on the continent. We’re spending, on average, 82 minutes a day to get from home to work or school. That’s worse than 18 other major cities, including Los Angeles. That’s why Seneca and the Seneca Student Federation (SSF) are working with CivicAction to make sure student concerns about transit are heard.
The College is holding a Seneca #Your32 Day on Monday, Nov. 25 to encourage students to voice their public transit concerns. CivicAction’s #Your32 campaign is about sharing the 32 reasons we need better transit; from a greener environment to a faster commute.
During Seneca #Your32 Day, students will be encouraged to take action on public transit issues in the GTA by signing a pledge at www.your32.com. The #Your32 pledge for action has been signed by more than 3,700 people, including 128 elected officials, who have joined the movement to improve transportation in our region.
SSF reps will be at the following locations from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to help collect your pledges and ensure that your voices are heard:
Newnham - SeneCentre
Markham - Kickback Lounge
King - King Dome
Seneca@York - Front of Computer Commons
CivicAction is a non-profit organization that brings together senior executives and rising leaders from all sectors to tackle some of this region's toughest social, economic and environmental challenges including public transit.
