Recycling Signage

Different items belong in different recycling bins. The downloadable posters, shown below, are a quick guide to what goes where.

 

 

Recycling Chart

Paper

  • Newspaper
  • Cup Sleeves (paper/cardboard)
  • Clean corrugated cardboard
  • Boxboard (e.g. cereal, tissue boxes)
  • Drink Trays
 
 

Recycling

  • Plastic Materials, including:
    • Plastic lids
    • Plastic bottles, jugs, jars
    • Plastic containers
    • Plastic hair care product bottles
  • Aluminum and metal cans and containers
  • Milk cartons and juice boxes
  • Clear and coloured glass bottles
  • Plastic shrink wrap
All containers must be empty. Rinsing containers helps to reduce odours and pests.
 

Compost

  • Compostable bowls
  • Food products, such as:
    • Soups
    • Dairy
    • Fruits and vegetables
    • Grain products
    • Meat and fish products (including bones)
  • Compostable take-out containers
  • Tea bags, coffee grounds and filters
  • Napkins
  • Facial tissue
  • Houseplants
  • Chopstick and wooden stir sticks
  • Other foods like candy

 

Garbage

  • Beverage cups
  • Condiment packages
  • Food packaging (e.g., chip bags, wrappers, etc.)
  • Aluminium foil and cling wrap
  • Plastic bags
  • Greasy, oily and food stained boxes/wrappers
  • Grease proof containers (e.g., fy and burger containers, etc.)
  • Styrofoam and plastic utensils
  • Waxed cardboard
  • Sanitary products (e.g., baby wipes, cotton balls, ear cleaners, make-up removal pads)
  • Cigarette butts
  • Corks
  • Disposable mop sheets
  • Dryer lint or sheets
  • Gum
  • Wax paper
  • Vacuum bags & contents
  • Padded envelopes

 

Liquid Only

  • Coffee, tea, soft drinks, water (poured out)

Do not throw out liquid containers into these bins, located in our cafeterias.
