Grad and entrepreneur advocates for clean energy globally

Alumnus Lalith Gunaratne was nominated for this year’s Premiere Awards 2017 in the technology category for his commitment to sustainable power and efforts internationally and now in Canada.

A Mechanical Engineering Technology graduate and Sri Lankan native, Lalith has established renewable energy industries in Asia and promoted them for rural development. He’s lived and worked in Asia and Africa for 27 years.

Lalith is currently collaborating with Meeco Group on a venture to build more renewable energy solutions for Aboriginal communities in Canada, and bridge the gap between socioeconomic issues and availability of electricity in those regions.
