Shifting attitudes towards Alzheimer’s and Dementia


Social Service Worker - Gerontology graduate Sara MacLean recently joined the Alzheimer's Society of PEI as the Education Coordinator to combat stigma around both Alzheimer and Dementia through public understanding.

Sara's work involves removing misconceptions surrounding the illness, such as viewing the diagnosis as an end-of-life condition, and encouraging family members and the community to accommodate individuals struggling.
