Overview
Successful supply chain managers must be strategists, able to synchronize every effort involved in the process: planning, sourcing, producing and delivering a product or service. Develop a broad knowledge base in logistics systems, global logistics, purchasing, information systems, project leadership, finance and customer relationship management.
The Supply Chain Management - Global Logistics program is accredited by:

Students completing the core courses of the Supply Chain Program, must also complete Supply Chain Canada Transfer Program courses in order to receive advance standing towards the CSCMP Designation.

To be accepted into this post-graduate certificate program, eligible students are invited to apply by submitting copies online of documents demonstrating one (or both) of the entry requirements outlined below:
- Ontario university/college degree, college diploma, advanced diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants with a combination of partial postsecondary and/or significant relevant work experience that is the equivalent of the above may be considered. A relevant resume and references must be provided.
- English proficiency for graduate certificates.

Curriculum
This course enables students to gain a detailed understanding of the basic business processes required to support modern Supply Chains through the use of commercial Enterprise Resources Planning software (SAP S/HANA ERP system).
The course will focus on the functions required to support the Sales Process, the Procurement Process, and Production Process. Students will learn about the steps in these processes as well as the points of integration between them by performing hands-on exercises in the SAP system.
The students will experience firsthand how modern SAP ERP systems are able to automate and optimize the business processes in Global Supply Chains. This course will also provide a solid foundation for students who wish to pursue the SAP TS410 Certification.
This subject demonstrates how Logistics and Supply Chain Management functions are meshed into a coordinated and efficient corporate operation. Emphasis is placed on the raw material or inbound aspects of corporate operation.
Note: Students that require this course for the Supply Chain Management program, can register for IBS984 - Global Logistics. Please contact the program contact of the program after you register for this course. This course is only offered in May (Spring/Summer Term)
This subject involves the study of the relation between business concepts and computer applications using Microsoft Office based spreadsheet and data base applications. Students will design and develop professional documents, presentations, spreadsheets and databases for advanced business decision making purposes. Students will use data visualization tools to simplify data sharing and evaluation by users.
The central focus of this subject is the preparation and use of accounting information to facilitate the decision making necessary to plan, direct and control the operations of a particular enterprise.
Note: Students that require this course for the Supply Chain Management program can also register for HRM732 Introduction to Financial and Management Accounting.
This course introduces the student to Production Planning and Inventory Management, the important management process and set of disciplines that are coordinated to ensure that the organization consistently meets the requirements of the production system. The purpose of this process is to specify the optimal combination of production rate, the workforce level, and inventory on hand.
This course introduces Sustainability Management and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from the viewpoint of the business management professional. Students will explore key sustainability issues and trends and examine international frameworks that help businesses improve their sustainability performance. Integral to this course, students will use their knowledge to create the business case of a sustainability initiative. The course aims to equip future business professionals with the capacity to effectively lead or participate in sustainability efforts in their organizations and help them adapt to the emerging 21st century business environment.
This subject focuses on the operational, financial and managerial aspects of transportation. In a global manufacturing corporation's supply chain, all of the facilities are identified by nodes while transportation is represented by all of the links between these nodes. Transportation is one function that spreads across the supply chain.
This Capstone project provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate and apply their overall knowledge of Supply Chain Management - Global Logistics. It will give the students the ability to work on a comprehensive Supply Chain project with an industry partner.
This course will introduce you to the evolving legal issues that are relevant to the international business environment, including the legal risks of entering foreign markets, international organizations, trading block, sales contracts, legal aspects of billing of lading and letters of credit, liability of ocean carriers, licensing and the resolution of international disputes.
Project Management is an essential discipline used across all business environments. Project management continues to be embraced by organizations striving to improve business results. The application of project management tools and techniques helps organizations launch new products/services, achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness, improve customer and stakeholder satisfaction and achieve greater competitive advantage. Topics to be covered include project selection, organization structure and culture, project initiation, project planning, project execution, monitoring and control and project closure. This course is compliant with the Project Management Institute "Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK)" 6th edition.
This subject is a continuation of Logistics and Supply Chain Management I (SCM830). This course focuses on the physical distribution or outbound process of a global corporate operation.
This subject is an introduction to Canada Custom Processes as a logistics function within a global supply chain. This would include the basic Customs documentation, release processes, refunds, corrections and drawbacks. Reference will be made to CUSMA and other international trade agreements and to the Customs Self-Assessment (CSA) process.
This course enables students to gain a detailed understanding of the integration between the basic business processes and the SAP modules - Financial (FI) and Managerial (CO) accounting business processes used in modern Supply Chains.
The course also contains hands-on team-based business simulation of the basic SAP business and SAP financial processes used in a simulated logistics company using the Fiori version of the SAP S4HANA system. In the simulation, students will have the opportunity to experience how their decisions about the logistics business processes can result in successful business outcomes. Students also learn firsthand the value of managing and analyzing business data in order to improve the quality of their business decisions.
Upon successful completion of SCM820 (Business Process I) and SCM920 (Business Process II), students will obtain a Certificate of Recognition of their SAP knowledge from SAP University Alliance. This course will also provide a solid foundation for students who wish to pursue the SAP TS410 (Integrated Business Processes in SAP S/4HANA) Certification.
This course introduces sustainable supply chain management as an increasingly integral part of a firm's overall supply chain strategy. The goal of this course is to make students aware of how to minimise reputational risks and maximise value by paying attention to the social, economic, and environmental performance and metrics of a firm's supply chain. Essential to the course, students will learn how to perform a sustainability chain analysis or audit (SCA) to devise a green logistics strategy for a firm. The course aims to equip the future supply chain manager with the tools to effectively adapt their organizations to the business demands of the 21st century. It is also intended to impart the necessary skills to respond to an increasing demand for sustainability professionals in Canada and globally.
Supply Chain Canada Transfer Program courses
Students are introduced to the basics of the procurement function including the purchasing cycle and the way purchasing activity is integrated into the firm's organization. Various purchasing tools and techniques are described and practiced. The important topics of cost-price analysis and negotiation are studied.
Logistics Systems I - SCP701
Students will build on their knowledge of logistics systems by focusing on inventory strategies and methods including equipment and safety requirements for warehousing.
This course examines the use of risk mitigation tools and strategies to inform supply chain management decisions. Students will explore the art and science of identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risk in order to create risk mitigation plans for various risk factors associated with an organization's supply chain. Students will learn how to lower the probability of occurrence of risk factors and the degree of impact of each high priority risk.
This course is intended to develop your understanding of customer service and the skills associated with understanding the needs of customers, meeting those needs and fostering an environment that encourage customers to return. It will be of interest to anyone who works with customers, either internal or external, on a daily basis.
Program Outcomes
- Examine the connections between strategic objectives, stakeholder expectations, and supply chain design, functions, processes and roles, to guide decision-making, problem-solving and coordination of tasks.
- Determine the value added and financial implications of supply chain decisions and design on overall business profitability, efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Ensure supply chain activities and transactions are compliant with relevant legal, regulatory and contractual obligations, and industry and organization standards and policies for quality, health, safety, accountability, social and environmental responsibility.
- Use risk mitigation tools and strategies to inform supply chain management decisions.
- Contribute to the acquisition and sale of goods, services and materials in accordance with best practices and public and private sector stakeholder expectations across a variety of industries.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and scheduling of material requirements, resource allocation and inventory for efficient production and fulfillment of customer orders and returns.
- Coordinate the efficient handling and movement of goods, services, materials and related information within and between supply chains.
- Contribute to the identification and management of continuous improvements to functions and processes within and between supply chains.
- Use available technologies to enhance work performance and support supply chain functions, processes, transactions and communications.
- Monitor relevant trends, emerging technologies, and local and global economic, political and environmental issues to enhance work performance and guide management decisions.
- Use leadership and communication skills to establish and manage strategic relationships with a diversity of stakeholders and support the achievement of business goals.
- Develop and apply ongoing strategies for personal, career and professional development.

Graduation/Convocation
When you meet all program requirements and become eligible for a certificate, diploma, or degree, you must inform the Registrar by completing a Graduation Application form and paying the graduation and alumni fee. Certificates, diplomas, and applied degrees are issued twice a year in the Fall (October), Spring (June) and Winter (February).

Seneca College and Logistics Institute's Partnership
Seneca College Faculty of Continuing Education and The Logistics Institute have established a partnership in which Seneca students, upon completion of the Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate, are eligible to receive advanced standing towards the Professional Logisticians (P.Log.) certification. Students seeking the P.Log. certification at the Logistics Institute may transfer credits to satisfy requirements for The Logistics Institute's professional certification programs.

Supply Chain Canada
The Supply Chain Canada is the leading organization for supply chain management professionals in Ontario. Formed through the amalgamation of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada and Supply Chain and Logistics association, Supply Chain Canada provides education and professional development to a network of 7,000 professionals. Under authority of provincial legislation, it awards the Certified Supply Chain Management Professional designation (CSCMP).
Seneca College and Supply Chain Canada have reached an agreement which only applies to graduates of the part-time Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program* (SCM) who have obtained a minimum cumulative Program G.P.A of 3.0. Faculty Profiles
Emiliano Introcaso, MBA, CITP, P.Log., CCI
Emiliano has more than two decades of experience working with manufacturers and exporters looking to increase their global growth by providing them with support and guidance in all things export.
His strategy not only focuses on navigating companies through the complexities of global supply chains, but also in the small details that can make or break an international trade transaction. Emiliano is an International Business Advisor at Export Development Canada (EDC), a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) with the Forum For International Trade Training (FITT), holds the Professional Logistician (PLOG) designation from the Logistics Institute, is an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Registered Trainer on Incoterms® 2020 and a Certified Instructor (CCI) with the Canadian International Freight Forwarding Association (CIFFA). Emiliano completed a Master of Business Administration (Global Leadership stream) at the University of Fredericton.
Hamid Shirazi, MBA, BSc
Hamid is an Economic Development Professional with the Ontario Government. Since 2008, he has held a number of managerial and senior advisory roles to enable the growth of Ontario's key industry sectors, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction, and job creation. Prior to that, Hamid was engaged in different aspects of international business and export development while working at an international medical device company (Tehran - Iran), The U.S. Foreign Commercial Service (Toronto), Toronto Export Development Initiative (Toronto), and Swedish Trade Council (Toronto).
Hamid's educational background includes an MBA with a specialization in international business, a graduate diploma in international business, and a Bachelor of Science in medical technology. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in business administration.
Hamid has been teaching global market entry and distribution, global marketing, international trade management, and international trade finance at Seneca since 2014.
