IFT103 - Food Plant Integrated Pest Management

This course introduces Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs that identify, control, prevent and eliminate pest issues that may be encountered in food processing plants, warehousing, marketing of food products and/or food service operations. Students learn the principles of pest management. This includes a review of basic information on sanitation, regulatory aspects of food safety, pesticides, preventive approaches and fumigation practices in the food industry. Procurement of pest management services and quality assurance through contract administration is also addressed. (Lectures)
