All 200 level courses.

This course is a continuation of Immigration Law, LGL215. Students focus on Canadian refugee law and how it fits into general immigration law and policy as set out by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and the Immigration and Refugee Board. This subject deals with issues such as the international refugee problem, persons in need of protection, the process of seeking protection and of claiming refugee status in Canada; and the tribunal process of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. The course also examines hearing procedures for immigration appeals, removals and detention reviews. This course requires students to complete one major research assignment in a group and to make an oral presentation of findings.
