Gokhan Canimkorbigi has been selected as a valedictorian for Seneca College’s convocation taking place on Wednesday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at the King Campus (13390 Dufferin Street, King City).

After graduating from high school Gokhan held a number of different jobs. He worked for a financial institution for some time, but always knew that he belonged in a “helping” profession. The year the Ontario government launched the Second Career program, Gokhan qualified and enrolled in Seneca College’s Social Service Worker diploma program.

The 30-year-old is hoping to work with mental health and addictions as well as with immigrants and refugees and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community to provide one-on-one counseling. He is currently volunteering for an agency downtown Toronto that provides these services.
