Meet the Spring 2014 Valedictorians

Valedictorian Katherinne Della Chiara
Katherinne is graduating from the Social Service Worker – Gerontology diploma program. Having never completed high school she was determined to improve her family’s situation, so she applied for the Second Career program. She was drawn to Seneca because of its academic reputation, notable professors and proximity to her home. A busy mom of two small children and a caregiver to aging parents, Katherinne successfully juggled her full-time studies, a part-time job and her family responsibilities. She completed the program with more than 440 placement hours and 4.0 GPA. She also received the Walker Wood Foundation Social Work (Gerontology) Award. Katherinne is now working as a Recreation Therapy Assistant at a hospital adult day program and has been accepted to a Bachelor of Social Work program.
