Valedictorian Sedigheh Sadie Rezaie

Sadie is graduating from the Practical Nursing diploma program. Sadie, a former political activist in Iran, came to Canada to escape political persecution and provide a better life for her family. Sadie worked as a real estate agent for 20 years, deciding to pursue a postsecondary education only after her children had completed their own studies. Having always helped her family, Sadie wanted to pursue a career where she could help others – which led her to nursing. Seneca’s Practical Nursing program gave Sadie the opportunity to help a diverse range of people, with clinical training in nursing homes, rehabilitation centres and maternity wards. The small class sizes at Seneca’s Yorkgate Campus also allowed Sadie to form close bonds with both her classmates and professors. Now that she has completed her diploma, Sadie has enrolled in an academic bridging program with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Sadie looks forward to starting her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UOIT next fall.
