Excited to become a Seneca student? Welcome to the #SenecaProud community! Follow these steps to make sure you are prepared for your first day.
Orientation
Step 1: Activate your Seneca Account
Learn@Seneca is the learning management system for students. You will need to sign in to Learn@Seneca to access your course information, materials, assignments and much more.
Download the Seneca Account Set-Up (PDF) document and follow the steps to set up your account. The information needed to set up your Seneca account will be emailed to you by Seneca’s Registration Department. If you have not received it, please email dualcredit@senecapolytechnic.ca.
Step 2: Setup your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a mandatory requirement for all students to access services. Student must install the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app on their mobile device (cell phone or tablet) and setup their MFA prior to beginning class.
Step 3: Setup your Seneca OneCard (not required for online learners)
Your Seneca OneCard is your official Seneca student ID. Setup your virtual Seneca OneCard to your smartphone.
With the OneCard, you can access a variety of services on campus.
Step 4: Attend your Accessing Technology at Seneca Training & Orientation Event
We look forward to meeting you during the Accessing Technology at Seneca Training & Orientation event. Please check the time and date of your event according to your Dual Credit course. Additional details will be emailed to you.
Step 5: Attend your Class
Winter 2024 Dual Credit courses will begin the week of February 26 and end the week of June 3. Your course website will appear on your Learn@Seneca page.
For in-person learners, you will receive an email with your classroom details prior to the first day of class.
For students with in-person classes the Seneca Navigate App can help you can find classrooms, study spaces, food services and washrooms easily thanks to detailed maps of Newnham, King and Seneca@York campuses.
Step 6: Accommodated Students: Schedule an Appointment with Seneca’s Counselling & Accessible Learning Services
Students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP), or those requiring any academic or physical accommodations, are required to make an appointment with Seneca’s Counselling & Accessible Learning Services. Accommodations do not automatically transfer over from high school.
Appointments can be made by calling 416.764.9700 or emailing senecacnas@senecapolytechnic.ca. You will be required to provide your Seneca student number to make an appointment (virtual or in-person).
Appointments should be made at the beginning of the semester to avoid delays.
At the appointment, you will need to provide a copy of your IEP and any other medical documentation. If you do not have a copy, please request it from your high school guidance counsellor or health care provider.
