Algoma University will offer transfer credits for all Seneca graduates from either a 1-year certificate program or a 2- or 3-year diploma program depending on college GPA and the degree of affinity/relation between the diploma and degree programs. See algomau.ca/ diplomadegree for specific information.

Seneca graduates of 3-year diploma programs with a GPA from 2.5 to 2.99 may be eligible for up to 30 credits and graduates with a GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 are eligible for up to 60 credits towards a related 90 credit 3-year degree or a 120-credit 4-year degree in a related degree.

Seneca graduates of 2-year diploma programs with a GPA from 2.5 to 2.99 may be eligible for up to 15 credits and graduates with a GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 are eligible for up to 45 credits towards a related 90-credit 3-year degree or a 120-credit 4-year degree in a related degree.

Seneca graduates of 1-year certificate programs with a GPA above 3.0 are eligible for up to 15 credits (1 semester) towards a 90-credit 3-year Bachelor of Arts degree or a 120-credit 4-year Bachelor of Arts degree.


Seneca Program: Open (any relevant Seneca diploma program)

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration (Brampton) – Bridge

Graduates from a 2- or 3-year business diploma may be eligible to receive 45 to 60 transfer credits, respectively towards their degree (advanced standing). Graduates who receive advanced standing and begin in the fall semester can complete the BBA degree in 4 to 5 semesters as a full-time student. Graduates from any 3-year non-business diploma may be eligible for up to 30 transfer credits towards this degree. Graduates from any 2-year non-business diploma may be eligible for up to 15 transfer credits
towards this degree. Graduates entering with any non-business diploma will be required to complete a bridging semester of 5 introductory business courses in the spring/summer.

Seneca Program: Social Service Worker

Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, Bachelor of Arts in Community, Economic and Social Development

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for 54 credits towards the 90-credit 3-year Community Development or the 120-credit 4-year Community Economic and Social Development degree program. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker

Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for 45 credits towards the 90-credit 3-year or the 120-credit 4-year Psychology degree program. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker

Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Sociology

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for 45 credits towards the 90-credit 3-year Sociology or 60 credits towards the 120-credit 4-year Sociology degree program. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker - Immigrants and Refugees

Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, Bachelor of Arts in Community, Economic and Social Development

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for 57 credits towards the 90-credit 3-year Community Development or the 120-credit 4-year Community Economic and Social Development degree program. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker - Immigrants and Refugees

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for up to 45 transfer credits towards the Bachelor of Social Work. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for up to 45 transfer credits towards the Bachelor of Social Work. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for 60 credits towards the 90-credit 3-year or the 120-credit 4-year Bachelor of Arts in Psychology or Sociology degree programs. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.


Seneca Program: Business Administration - Accounting & Financial Planning , Business - Marketing , Business Administration - Management , Business - Insurance , Business Administration - Financial Planning , Accounting and Finance , Business Administration - Entrepreneurship and Small Business , Business , Accounting and Payroll , Accounting , Business Administration - Purchasing and Supply Management , Business Administration - Marketing

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration (Brampton or SSM), Bachelor of Arts in Finance & Economics, Bachelor of Arts in Accounting

Graduates from any 3-year Business Administration diploma may be eligible for up  to 60 transfer credits towards the Bachelor of Business Administration (no minor). Graduates from any 2-year business-related diploma or 3-year Business Administration diploma who wish to complete a minor may be eligible for up to 45 transfer credits towards the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program.

Graduates of this diploma program may be eligible for 45 credits towards the 90-credit 3-year Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or the 120-credit 4-year Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics degree programs. Students must graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.


Seneca Program: Computer Programmer , Computer Engineering Technology , Computer Programming and Analysis

Degree: Bachelor of Computer Science (Accelerated Degree or Traditional – SSM Campus)

Graduates of a Computer Science diploma program with a 3.0 overall GPA can earn a general 3-year Bachelor of Computer Science degree in 1 year of study. Students must complete an accelerated summer semester from May through August and enter their 3rd year of study in September.


Seneca Program: Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Psychology

Graduates from the Pre-Health Sciences certificate program are eligible for admission and 1 semester of transfer credit (15 credits) to a Bachelor of Science program in Biology or Psychology. Students must graduate from the Pre-Health Sciences program with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.


Seneca Program: Police Foundations

Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Law & Justice, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science

Graduates from the Police Foundations program with a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible for up to  45 transfer credits towards the 90-credit 3-year or the 120-credit 4-year Law & Justice or Political Science degree programs.
