Transfer credits will be considered for a course completed at Seneca, provided a grade of B or higher was achieved. A course with a grade of C may be considered only when there are an equal number of course equivalents with A grades. The granting of transfer credits will vary depending on the degree program and major to which the applicant is admitted. Nipissing University residency requirements apply. Program-specific subject requirements must still be met to be considered for some programs.


Seneca Program: Accounting & Finance, Business Administration – Financial Planning, Business Administration – Human Resources, Business Administration – International Business, Business Administration – Management, Business Administration – Marketing, Business Administration – Purchasing & Supply Management

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of a three-year Business Administration diploma with a cumulative 72 per cent overall average can be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree with transfer credits to a maximum of 60 credits (two years). Admitted students will be able to complete their program at Nipissing University in North Bay.

Graduates of a three-year Business Administration diploma with a cumulative 72 per cent overall average can be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce with transfer credits to a maximum of 60 credits (two years). Admitted students will be able to complete their program through one of our college partners or online as an independent learner.

Graduates of a three-year Business Administration diploma with a cumulative 72 per cent overall average can be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credits to a maximum of 45 credits (one-and-a-half years). Admitted students will be able to complete their program through one of our college partners or online as an independent learner.


Seneca Program: Accounting, Accounting & Payroll, Business, Business – Insurance, Business – International Business, Business – Marketing, Financial Services – Client Services

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma with a cumulative 72 per cent overall average can be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree with transfer credits to a maximum of 42 credits (1.2 years). Admitted students will be able to complete their program at Nipissing University in North Bay.

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma at with a cumulative 72 per cent overall average can be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce with transfer credits to a maximum of 45 credits (one-and-a-half years). Admitted students will be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.

Graduates of a two-year Business diploma with a cumulative 72 per cent overall average can be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (three-year degree) with transfer credits to a maximum of 30 credits (one year). Admitted students will be able to complete their program online as an independent learner.


Seneca Program: Early Childhood Education

Degree: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education

Graduates with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average are eligible for admission with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits (one year). Applicants are also eligible for admission consideration to Nipissing’s Concurrent Education program.

Admissions consideration for Concurrent Education (Early Childhood Education [ECE Graduates]) requires the successful completion of an ECE diploma with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average. The applicant may be eligible for admission consideration to Nipissing University’s Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours Specialization degree program based on their ECE diploma. Applicants must present a minimum of 70 per cent in one semester of English or communications at the college level (not Academic and Career Entrance [ACE] Program courses) or ENG4U from high school with a minimum grade of 70 per cent. A minimum 60 per cent in one semester of mathematics (not Academic and Career Entrance [ACE] program courses or statistics) at the college level or a 3U or 3M mathematics from high school with a minimum grade of 60 per cent is also required.


Seneca Program: Police Foundations

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminal Justice (Legal Studies and Administration Stream or Policing Stream)

Graduates of these two-year diploma programs with a cumulative average of 75 per cent or higher may be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program (Legal Studies and Administration or Policing) with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits (two years). Other programs can be applied to with a 70 per cent average and a maximum of 30 credits (one year) of transfer credit granted. The policy is currently under review. Seneca Program: Child & Youth Care, Social Service Worker, Social Service Worker – Gerontology, Social Service Worker – Immigrants & Refugees

Degree: Bachelor of Arts

Graduates with a cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts program with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits (one year).


Seneca Program: Child & Youth Care

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates with a cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to a four-year Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 60 credits (2 years).

Graduates with a cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to a three-year Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits (one-and-a-half years).


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker, Social Service Worker – Gerontology, Social Service Worker – Immigrants & Refugees

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Graduates with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year major in Child and Family Studies with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits (one-and-a-half years).

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

Graduates with a cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization, Specialization or four-year major in Sociology with transfer credit to a maximum of 45 credits (one-and-a-half years).


Seneca Program: Child & Youth Care, Social Service Worker, Social Service Worker – Gerontology, Social Service Worker – Immigrants & Refugees

Degree: Bachelor of Social Work

Graduates with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Social Work program with transfer credit to a maximum of 30 credits (1 year).

During year two of the Bachelor of Social Work program, students must apply for admission consideration to the professional years (years three and four) of the program. Admission to the first or second year of the program does not guarantee acceptance into the professional years.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker, Social Service Worker – Gerontology, Social Service Worker – Immigrants & Refugees

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization or Specialization in Social Welfare and Social Development)

Graduates with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization or Specialization in Social Welfare and Social Development) program with transfer credits as follows:

3.0 GPA – 30 credits (one year)

3.5 GPA – 36 credits (1.2 years)

3.7 GPA – 45 credits (one-and-a-half years)

4.0 GPA – 60 credits (two years)


Seneca Program: Graphic Design

Degree: Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Art (Major or Specialization in Fine Art – Studio stream)

Graduates of an advanced three-year diploma program in Graphic Design with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or the Bachelor of Arts (BA) Major or Specialization in Fine Arts (Studio stream) with a maximum of 54 credits (1.75 years). All students admitted to the BFA program are required to successfully complete the

BFA Portfolio Assessment the year prior to the final year of study to be eligible to remain in the BFA program.


Seneca Program: Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemical Laboratory Technology – Pharmaceutical, Civil Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology – Automation, Electronics Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology, Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology – Building Sciences, Mechanical Engineering Technology – Industrial Design

Degree: Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates of a three-year technology advanced diploma with a minimum cumulative 70 per cent overall average or higher will be considered for admission to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce with transfer credit to a maximum of 51 credits (1.7 years) or to the Bachelor of Commerce (three year) with transfer credit up to a maximum of 45 credits (1.5 years).
