Shivers and smiles at annual polar bear dip
Brave faculty, students and alumni jumped into an icy Lake Seneca on Tuesday, March 20 for a great cause.
Raising a record-breaking $14,561, this year’s event saw participants go to more extreme lengths than ever to raise funds for student financial aid. School of Aviation Director Lynn McMullen and Work-Integrated Learning Manager Elaine Fenner offered the incentive of a plane ride over the event to their top donors (and wore flight gear to set the proper mood for their dip).
“Thanks to all who donated, the dippers surpassed their $10,000 goal,” said Caterina Ventrella, Development Officer. “The annual support of this event sends a meaningful message to students that their stories and achievements are important to all members of the Seneca community. This polar bear dip would not have been as impactful without the dedication of our fundraising dippers and their generous donors.”
Additional donations will be accepted until Monday, March 26 at 4 p.m. Please adopt a dipper to support the Campaign for Students.
