seneca fundraising for united way

Dec. 7, 2018

Thanks to the participation of hundreds of students, faculty and staff, the Seneca community has raised more than $163,000 in support of United Way.

Saturday, Nov. 24 marked the last fundraising event of the campaign. More than 25 students and employees climbed 1,776 steps up the CN Tower to fundraise a total of $3,264. Top fundraisers from #TeamSeneca included Caroline Grech, Manager of Government and Community Relations; Jerin Raj, Senior Technical Support and Agnieszka Gorgon, Instructional Design & eLearning Librarian.

Within #TeamSeneca, small teams called "climb crews" competed with their fundraising efforts. The top climb crew this year included Jerin Raj, Agnieszka Gorgon and Jinal Patel, who raised a total of $785.

The top donor to the campaign overall is the Seneca Student Federation (SSF) who contributed $15,000 last week. This donation will support those in need in our local community, including young people who face adversity before they even reach postsecondary education.
