Kaila Bolton, a new graduate of Seneca’s Documentary & Non-Fiction Media Production (DNM) graduate certificate program, picked up an award at the FIN Atlantic International Film Festival in Halifax last week.

Ms. Bolton’s Queen of Chaos has won Best Atlantic Short Documentary. The 14-minute film about hoarding follows Thérèse Bélisle as she battles with her conflicting needs to both surround herself with things and declutter her apartment.

“Thérèse’s goal in being open about her life for this short film was to educate people about the complexities of hoarding,” said Ms. Bolton, who is also a visual anthropologist. “The fact that this film reached such a wide audience through this festival is amazing.”
