Athabasca University offers online degree completion opportunities to Seneca graduates from a variety of programs (see below). Please note: The transfer credit listed is based on program/course information submitted by Seneca. Applications to Athabasca University are treated individually according to the relevant credential program regulations and are dependent on the year the college program and/or individual courses were completed, the course selection within the diploma and other variables. Individual credit may vary.

Seneca Program: Business Administration – Management, Business – Insurance, Business Administration – Financial Planning, Library & Information Technician, Business Administration – Entrepreneurship & Small Business, Business, Police Foundations

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts – Governance, Law and Management

Graduates of the above two-year programs may receive up to 60 credits, while graduates of three-year diplomas may receive up to 72 transfer credits toward the 120 required for this degree.


Seneca Program: Police Foundations

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Criminal Justice

Graduates may receive up to 60 credits toward the 120 required for this degree.


Seneca Program: Business Administration – Accounting & Financial Planning, Business – Marketing, Business Administration – Management, Business Administration – Financial Planning, Accounting & Finance, Business Administration – Purchasing & Supply Management, Business Administration – Marketing, Business Administration – Human Resources, Business – International Business, Business Administration – Entrepreneurship & Small Business, Business Administration – International Business, Accounting & Payroll, Accounting

Degree: Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Commerce (Post Diploma) programs

Graduates of the above two-year diploma programs may receive 30-45 credits towards either the 90-credit, three-year or 120-credit, four-year degree. Graduates of the above three-year diploma programs may receive up to 66 credits towards the 90-credit, three-year degree (BMgmt. [PD] only) or up to 66 credits towards the 120-credit, four-year degree (with major) or up to 75 credits towards the 120-credit, four-year degrees (without major).


Seneca Program: Business Administration – Management, Library & Information Technician, Business Administration – Marketing, Journalism

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communication Studies

Graduates of the above two-year diplomas may receive up to 60 credits while three-year diploma graduates may receive up to 72 credits towards this 120-credit degree.


Seneca Program: Recreation & Leisure Services, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Police Foundations, Social Service Worker – Immigrants & Refugees, Social Service Worker – Gerontology, Fitness & Health Promotion, Behavioural Sciences

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Human Services

Graduates may receive up to 60 credits towards the 120 required to complete this four-year degree.


Seneca Program: Law Clerk

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts – Communication Studies, Bachelor of Professional Arts – Governance, Law & Management or Bachelor of Professional Arts – Human Services

Graduates of the above two-year diploma may receive up to 30 credits towards this 120-credit degree. Students are required to present an additional 30 university-level credits prior to admittance into the Bachelor of Professional Arts – Communication Studies, Bachelor of Professional Arts – Governance, Law & Management or Bachelor of Professional Arts – Human Services programs.


Seneca Program: Business, Real Property Administration (Assessment & Appraisal)

Degree: Bachelor of Management (Post Diploma) Program

Graduates may receive up to 45 credits towards the 120 credits required to complete this four-year degree or 45 credits towards the 90 credits required to complete the three-year degree. For more information regarding this program, please contact business-support@athabascau.ca. Students of the Real Property Administration (Assessment & Appraisal) program must have completed one of the following from Athabasca University: ACCT 245, ACCT 250 or ACCT 253; as well as ADMN 232; ADMN 233; and ECON 248 or acceptable equivalents to be eligible for admission to the program.


Seneca Program: Business, Real Property Administration (Assessment & Appraisal)

Degree: Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates may receive up to 45 credits towards the 120 credits required to complete this four-year degree. For more information regarding this program, please contact business-support@athabascau.ca. Students of the Real Property Administration (Assessment & Appraisal) program must have completed one of the following from Athabasca University: ACCT 245, ACCT 250 or ACCT 253; as well as ADMN 232; ADMN 233; and ECON 248 or acceptable equivalents to be eligible for admission to the program.


Seneca Program: Chemical Laboratory Technician, Electronics Engineering Technician

Degree: BSc (PD) or BSc (PD) with Majors

Graduates may receive 30 credits towards the BSc (PD) or BSc (PD) with Majors in Applied Mathematics, Computing Information Systems or Human Science.


Seneca Program: Computer Networking & Technical Support, Computer Systems Technology, Computer Programmer, Computer Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Computer Programming & Analysis, Electronics Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technician

Degree: BSc (PD) or BSc (PD) with Majors

Graduates may receive 60 credits towards the BSc (PD) degree or 30 credits towards the BSc (PD) with Majors in Applied Mathematics, Computing Information Systems, or Human Science.
