About the Program

This two-year diploma program will expose you to the different aspects of advertising communications from strategic planning, concept development, digital content creation and management, copywriting, art direction, account management and applied research and public relations. 

You will be challenged to be a creative and imaginative thinker, strong-willed and a superior writer with solid interpersonal skills.

To be eligible for this joint program between Seneca and York University, you must be a York University student who has completed:

  • Two years of a BA program or 
  • Three years of an honours BA program

To confirm your eligibility, you will need to first contact York University’s Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies Academic Advising Services and show your interest in applying for Seneca’s Creative Advertising (Joint Seneca/York).  

Each semester of this program will help you develop and present a few full-fledged ad campaigns, from live briefs to real clients, all with the goal of growing your personal skills portfolio required for entry into the industry.

In the second year, you will have an opportunity to pick between the creative stream or strategic stream depending on your career interest. Along with specializing in portfolio development, personal branding and digital and mobile planning, the program will also offer you an opportunity to attend New York Advertising Week. You will become a part of the advertising industry with agency tours, meet with the industry leaders and begin the challenge of marketing yourself.

Note: You can also pursue the exclusive two-year Creative Advertising Seneca Diploma program.
