About the Program

TESL 1 is offered in a hybrid format, which includes two days/week of in-class instruction, one day/week on-site practicum and on-line synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

You will receive 135 hours of TESL instruction, including 42 hours of structured online asynchronous study, 25 hours of guided classroom observation and 10 hours of supervised practice teaching. Successful completion of TESL 1 will entitle you to a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language -TESL 1, and eligibility to apply for TESL Canada Standard 1 accreditation and TESL Ontario CTESOL accreditation.
