B101: The Andrew Lindup Award of Excellence

This award is given to the best all-round students graduating from the Underwater Skills program at King Campus.

B112: The John D. Laing Bursary

Awarded to a second-year student enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at King Campus. The recipient will be selected by the faculty based on sound academic standing, above average dedication who is compassion and caring, with demonstrated leadership and volunteer involvement in the community. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons or Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.

B114: Iris the Visual Group - Experience Better Vision Award

This award recognizes students in the Opticianry Diploma Program that exemplify Iris’ values of passion, honesty and respect, and will be awarded to one student from the full-time program and another from the part-time, continuing education program. Recipients shall demonstrate good team spirit, class participation and overall enthusiasm for the program/industry. The recommendation is made by faculty members.

B115: Campaign for Students Bursary for the Faculty of Applied Arts and Health Sciences

Awarded to students in the Faculty of Applied Arts and Health Sciences who demonstrate financial need and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and a resident of Ontario. Recipients will be selected by the Awards Committee.

B204: David Somerville Award

Awarded to a student enrolled in any program at King Campus. Candidate must be recommended by a Seneca staff or faculty member, attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and also demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation and a positive attitude towards the enhancement of King Campus life.

B206: King SAC Award

Prior to the incorporation of the Seneca Student Federation in 1999, the King Student Administrative Council established an award to assist students in second, third or fourth year of their program, and to assist graduating students. Students must demonstrate leadership qualities through active contributions to the development of the King Campus community, as well as maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.

B207: McLean Foundation Award

This award is for students enrolled in any full-time program within the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering Technology or the Faculty of Applied Arts and Health Sciences. The recipient will have a minimum GPA of 3.0, exhibit a passion for learning, be a creative thinker and a team player. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and have demonstrated financial need. The selection of a recipient will be made by faculty members.

B400: The Tim Gill Memorial Award

Awarded to a deserving student registered full-time in the Recreation and Leisure Services program. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need. The recipient will be selected by Faculty based on academic merit.

B401: Golf Course Technician Alumni Award

Awarded to a full-time student in the Environmental Landscape Management program who shows interest or aptitude for golf course groundskeeping. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents, and have demonstrated financial need. The recipient will be recommended by faculty.

B404: Follett Award for Fitness and Health Promotion

Awarded to a full-time student in first year of the Fitness and Health Promotion program. The recipient will have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need. The recipient shows community involvement through volunteerism. The recipient will be recommended by faculty.

B504: The Yorkdale Scholarship - Tourism & Travel Studies

Scholarship will be given to the student showing the most improvement from the first semester to the final semester of the Tourism & Travel program. The recipient will be selected by the faculty. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need.

B506: Greater Toronto Hotel Association Award

Awarded to a student in the School of Tourism based on academic achievement and the recommendation of faculty in the hospitality stream of the program.

B507: School of Tourism - Professionalism Award

Awarded to a first or second year student enrolled in the Travel & Tourism program with high academic standing (a cumulative GPA of 3.0) and demonstrated financial need. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need.

B511: School of Tourism Awards for Domestic Students

Awarded to domestic students enrolled in any full-time program within the School of Tourism. Recipients will have high academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.5, congenial, all-round and participate in community activities. Recipients will be recommended by faculty members.

B512: InSchoolwear Flight Services Bursary

The InSchoolwear Flight Services Bursary will be awarded to a student enrolled in Flight Services (FLS) or Tourism and Travel – Flight Services Options (TFS) with demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.5.

B601: Ejaz Meghji Memorial Bursary

This award was established by the family and friends of a former Seneca student. It will be awarded to assist deserving students who are enrolled full time in any social service worker program. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need. Selection will be made by faculty members based on academic achievement (minimum GPA of 2.5), leadership skills and involvement in student life.

B602: North American Taiwanese Women's Association - Toronto Chapter Award

Awards are given to two second-year full-time students enrolled in any social service worker program. Selections are made by the faculty of the School of Community Services based on high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.3 in first year) and demonstrated financial need.

B603: Walker Wood Foundation SSW Gerontology Award

Awarded to second-year, full-time domestic students in the Social Service Worker – Gerontology program. The recipients demonstrate high academic achievement (minimum GPA of 4.0), involvement in community or extracurricular activities and financial need. The recipient will be recommended by faculty.

B604: Leonard and Gabryela Osin Foundation Social Service Worker (Gerontology) Award

One award of $1,000 is given to a second-year student enrolled in the full-time Social Service Worker-Gerontology program at King Campus. Eligible students must have demonstrated financial need. Selection will be made by faculty members based on academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5), leadership skills and involvement in student life.

B606: Verve’s Richmond Hill Retirement Residence Award

Awarded to a second-year student enrolled full-time in the Social Service Worker-Gerontology program. Eligible students will have demonstrated financial need. The selection will be made by faculty members, based on academic achievement (a minimum GPA of 3.0) and involvement in community or extra-curricular activities.

B607: Jordan and Lynne Elliotte Family Foundation Award

Awarded to students enrolled full-time in the Social Service Worker or Child and Youth Worker program. Eligible students must have demonstrated financial need. The selection will be made by faculty members, based on academic achievement (a minimum GPA of 3.0) and involvement in community or extra-curricular activities.

B609: School of Community Services General Education Award

Awarded to a second-year student in the School of Community Services. The recipient is enrolled in a General Education course in the fall semester with a minimum average of B in the course. English writing courses are excluded. Emphasis will be placed on demonstrated financial need. The recipient will be selected by the Awards Committee.

B611: Social Service Worker IR Award

Awarded to a full-time student enrolled in first or second year of the Social Service Worker-Immigrants and Refugees program. The recipient will demonstrate financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Preference is given to a student with extreme need. The recipient will be recommended by faculty.

B703: The Carol L. Paasche ECE Bursary

This award will assist students who are registered in a full-time Early Childhood Education program. Eligible persons should have successfully completed the first year of Early Childhood Education, have demonstrated commitment to their studies and fellow students, as well as skill in their practice teaching.

B705: Walker Wood Foundation Child Development Award

Awarded to full-time domestic students in the Honours Bachelor of Child Development program. The recipients demonstrate high academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5), involvement in community or extracurricular activities and financial need. Preference will be given to previous award recipients provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The recipients will be recommended by faculty.

B706: Leonard and Gabryela Osin Foundation Early Childhood Education Award

Two awards are given to second-year students enrolled in any full-time programs within the School of Early Childhood Education at King Campus. Eligible students must have demonstrated financial need. Selections are made by faculty members based on academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5), leadership skills and involvement in student life.

B708: Follett Award for Honours Bachelor of Child Development

Awarded to a full-time student in the Honours Bachelor of Child Development program. The recipient will have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Selection will be made by the Awards Committee.

B800: The Helen Best Bursary

Awarded to assist deserving students enrolled in the Nursing program, based on academic merit and financial need.

B801: The Helen Best Scholarship

Awarded to students in the Nursing program, to recognize academic excellence.

B802: OPSEU Local 560 Health Sciences Bursaries

Awards for students registered in a Seneca Health Sciences program who demonstrate financial need. Selection will be made by a joint committee of Union Local and college representatives in accordance with stipulated guidelines. Preference will be given to those students who have dependent family members, are members of a target group as identified in Employment and Equity guidelines (women , Aboriginal peoples, visible minorities, Francophones, persons with disabilities) and have a personal or family background in the labour movement.

B803: Lori-Anne Pennells-Barre Award

Awarded to assist a student in the Nursing diploma program. Eligible student must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and Ontario resident, and have demonstrated financial need.

B804: York Regional Seneca Nanji Foundation School of Nursing Scholarship

Awarded to students graduating from the Nursing program, based on an outstanding level of proficiency.

B805: York Regional Seneca Nanji Foundation School of Nursing Bursary

Awarded to assist students in the Nursing program, based on academic merit and financial need.

B806: Pat Hall Nursing Bursary

Awarded to assist students registered in a Nursing program. Eligible students must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and Ontario resident and show demonstrated financial need.

B811: Leonard and Gabryela Osin Foundation Practical Nursing Award

One award of $1,000 is given to a second-year student enrolled in the full-time Practical Nursing program at King Campus. Eligible students must have demonstrated financial need. Selection will be made by faculty members based on academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5), leadership skills and involvement in student life.
