Chair, School of Accounting & Financial Services
Mark Hanna is academic chair for the School of Accounting & Financial Services. He holds an undergraduate degree in criminology from the University of Toronto, an LL.B and LL.M (specializing in intellectual property) from Osgoode Hall Law School and a PhD in education (specializing in community college leadership) from the University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). Dr. Hanna began his career as a practising lawyer before leaving practice to join Humber College as a program co-ordinator for their paralegal and law clerk programs. He spent 14 years in various roles at Humber, with the last six years in the position of associate dean for the Faculty of Business. Dr. Hanna’s leadership philosophy centres around service leadership and working closely with faculty subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality educational experience for students.
Support Co-ordinator, Center for Financial Services
Lori Pinder’s significant administrative and operational experience was developed in the financial services sector working with senior leaders in the fast-paced banking, securities and insurance industry. She joined the Centre for Financial Services team in 2007. Lori participated in the development and organization of the centre's Financial Planning Graduate Certificate program (formerly known as the Financial Services Practitioner). She has worked with marketing staff, instructors, product and service suppliers and key stakeholders/companies in the insurance, securities and banking industry to ensure that programs not only meet industry standards and requirements but attract new talent into the area. Lori currently provides executive administrative support the CFS team as well as the academic Chair and Program Manager of the School of Accounting & Financial Services. She is also an integral part of Seneca Business team.
Industry Director, Insurance & Wealth Management
Sam has more than 40 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. He started in 1974 with Montreal Life and went on to work with the ING Group of Companies for twelve years. In 1990, he incorporated his own agency, Albanese Financial Group Inc., and built it into a national distribution company with brokers from coast to coast. The name was subsequently changed to AFG Canada Inc. to reflect its national presence. In 2004, Sam sold AFG Canada Inc. and joined Seneca’s Centre for Financial Services in 2005.
Industry Director, Compliance & Risk Management
Samky holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Management and Economics from University College, Cardiff, U.K., as well as his MBA (Finance) from Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto). Samky is a full-time professor/program co-ordinator and compliance consultant, focusing on compliance culture development and compliance officers skills training. Samky has worked with industry associations & regulators such as the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Canadian Bankers Association, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, the City of Toronto and has international business development and consultation experiences in the Far East. Samky is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C) and a Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS). He currently sits on the Toronto Chapter’s Board of the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialist (ACFCS)
Associate, Financial Services
Rohan Singh has been a financial services executive in the Canadian life insurance and mutual fund industries for more than 30 years. He has held several senior management positions with responsibility for insurance and investment product development, marketing, multi-channel distribution management, strategic business unit management and corporate strategic planning. Most recently, he was President and Director of ING Wealth Management Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary by ING Canada. Rohan joined the Centre for Financial Services in the spring of 2008 and has been actively involved in raising awareness of Seneca's Financial Planning programs. In addition, he teaches courses in marketing, life insurance, investment funds and retirement planning for the School of Accounting & Financial Services. Rohan holds a B.Sc. and Executive MBA from the University of Toronto. He has completed the Officers, Partners, and Directors' course of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada, and holds the Fellow of the Life Management Institute and Elder Planning Counsellor.

Neissan is a Fintech leader and international product management executive with more than 20 years of experience in start-ups and corporate environments in Brazil, Canada and the U.S. As an awarded innovator and design thinking advocate, he has occupied multiple C-suite level roles in the mobile-security, payment and loyalty verticals. A pioneer in Brazil in mobile data collection, banking internet security and prepaid systems, Neissan invented HutCash® the first hybrid (loyalty+payment) cryptocurrency used between 2006 and 2015 at the largest pizza fast food global chain. He is an engaging speaker who combines passion with intellect. Currently, Neissan is a senior adviser to NueBridge Ltd where he leads the blockchain, artificial intelligence and innovation practice. Before that he was vice president of product and project management at Giesecke & Devrient (Canada), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SafeLoyalty (Brazil), Managing Director of Prosisa International (USA), CEO of E-Safetransfer (Brazil), and principal & founder of NMDesign S/C Ltd., a design studio specialized in the information technology and automobile industry.
Michelle is a privacy and information management expert with specialized expertise in Privacy by Design. Michelle assists the public, not-for-profit, and private organizations in modernizing their existing privacy or information management approach and conduct privacy training for staff. She is an experienced instructor and facilitator, recognized as a leader in higher education in the areas of data privacy, privacy law, analytical skills, government, and smart grid.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Financial Technology (Fintech) Expert
Ramy has a passion for all things Fintech and AI. He has an engineering undergraduate degree combined with a master’s in computer science, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and he is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). This academic background makes him a perfect fit for teaching in Seneca's Financial Technology (FNT) graduate program as well as in Schulich's MBA program. Ramy has been lead researcher on multiple fintech applied research projects, and spends multiple hours per day analyzing and commenting on economic and market activities through his online articles. In addition to his academic career, Ramy is currently holding directorship positions in multiple organizations. In the past, Ramy has held executive positions including Chairman and CEO at SyncBASE Inc.; CIO at the Insurance Bureau of Canada; VP, Internet Strategy and Development at Fidelity Investments; VP, Internet Technology at Merrill Lynch; and Chief Systems Architect at Mercer Human Resources Consulting. He started his career as a programmer and continues to dedicate many hours every week to enhancing his programming skills specifically in the fields of AI and machine learning
