Anita La Selva is an award-winning director, “dramaturg”, actor and creator. Her focus as an artist is in creating inter-disciplinary, inter-cultural work that reflects the world we live in today. Ms. La Selva is a sought-after director, co-creator and consultant on numerous inter-disciplinary projects and has been instrumental in developing many original theatrical works. She is the 2019 recipient of the Gina Wilkinson Award for Emerging Female Director, and the winner of two My Entertainment World Theatre awards for her production of Look Back in Anger (Fevergraph Theatre/Best Director and Best Regional Production).

As an actor, Ms. La Selva has worked extensively in theatre, television and film for more than 25 years in everything from series television to independent film. Her short film 12 Litres 8800 Steps which she wrote, produced and directed recently garnered accolades at more than 15 international film festivals. Ms. La Selva trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in the U.K. and holds an MFA in directing from York University. She has been an artist mentor through the Toronto Arts Council and The Buddies Emerging Creators’ Unit.
