Kennedy Jawoko has more than 20 years of experience in academia, journalism and international development. He joined Seneca’s School of Media in 2016 after completing a Knight Journalism (Graduate) Fellowship and visiting scholarship at Stanford University. Mr. Jawoko holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Toronto and a bachelor of journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. His expertise is further strengthened by a certificate in international humanitarian law from the University of Ottawa and a certificate in conflict resolution, focusing on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Jawoko serves as Director at Large for the Canadian Media Educators and has worked for CBC Radio and TV. His doctoral research agenda broadly focuses on China’s soft power (nation branding), intersecting journalism, communication and international relations theories in practice.
