Broadcasting – Radio, Broadcasting – Television

“The biggest thing for me was the technical aspect. It gave me a leg up because I entered the business at the dawn of video journalism. If you wanted an entry-level job, you had to bring more to the table. Those skills certainly helped.”

As host and chief correspondent of CBC’s World Report, David brings a national newscast to more than a million people each morning on the most-listened-to national radio news program in Canada. He has covered international political affairs extensively in Europe, North Africa and North America and possesses the highly sought-after talent to shoot and edit his own stories. As a journalist, the Seneca graduate has travelled to more than 60 countries, reporting from war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq, and covering natural disasters in Haiti and Japan. His passion for storytelling and compassion for others has earned him two Gemini nominations, winning once in the Best Reportage category.
