Journalism

“Seneca prepared me for the rigours of the industry and taught me to wear all the hats, from reporting to writing, editing and producing. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the support and teaching from Seneca’s Journalism Summer Institute”

For Isaac Cohen, the meaning of success is waking up every day and doing something you love. As a child, Mr. Cohen was a huge sports fan — something he says is ironic having immigrated to Toronto from Morocco with his family at a young age. While he wasn’t immersed in the Canadian sports scene, he decided to pursue his love of the field with a career in broadcasting. His studies at Seneca and his dedication landed him a reporting role with Rogers TV, a story editor role with TSN and several news and sports roles with CTV in Northern Ontario. Versatility in these jobs enabled him to cover exciting events such as the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, and OHL Hockey, plus co-hosting several live segments for Sudbury’s annual Christmas charity telethon. Today, Mr. Cohen is a Writer and Presentation Producer with CTV National News and says he’s grateful to Seneca for helping him achieve his dreams.
