Howard has taught at the University of Hawai'i, York University, Hawai'i Pacific University's MA program in Diplomacy and Military Studies, and at Seneca since 1969. He has edited publications such as Bridges: Explorations in Science, Technology and Society, The College Quarterly and The Innovation Journal, and written extensively on education, social criticism, popular music and technology. Howard holds degrees in political science from Glendon College, the University of Hawaii and York University, and in history and philosophy from the University of Toronto. A community and trade union activist and multi-media journalist, he covered the original Woodstock Festival from Yasgur's farm and has never looked back.
