Shereen received her doctorate in philosophy from York University, focusing on philosophy of science and the cognitive sciences. Her research centred on induction in scientific thinking, language development, philosophy of biology and the relationship between language and communication. Additionally, she investigates dynamic methods for teaching and assessment in the liberal arts for postsecondary education. As a result, she examines the role new media can play in student involvement in the curriculum, such as student blogs or e-portfolios and how online personae offer students with special needs the opportunity to enjoy equal success as the other students in their cohort. Shereen currently works as professor and co-ordinator of the School of Liberal Arts and Academic Partnerships.
