Seneca 360

Promotional Video

Based in York Region, 360°kids has been providing various services and support to at-risk youth for more than 30 years, including safe housing, clothing and food, counselling, life skills training, employment programs, education upgrading and job searching.

Under the guidance of Tim Abbott of the School of Media, Charisse Arsolon and Hannah Dawson from the Event & Media Production diploma program were tasked with producing a promotional video to demonstrate the work 360°kids does in the community and to encourage donations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming original footage for the video became impossible, but the team quickly pivoted and decided to turn existing footage of an annual organizational event into an impactful video.

“Through Seneca 360, I was given the opportunity to gain experience to prepare for my future after graduating from Seneca. As a student, working for an organization outside the college was a thrilling experience — I was able to execute all the lessons my professors have taught me in class and gain first-hand experience from the field. Not only did I gain experience from the field, but I was also able to meet amazing people with even greater life stories and experiences. Working with Seneca 360 gave me a more comprehensive vision of what I want to be in the future.”

-Charisse Arsolon, Seneca 360 student

“360°kids was an eye-opening experience for me as I’m sure it is to many others. My goal as I began to learn more about this organization was to show viewers how hard the staff and community involved with 360°kids work. I am so beyond thankful that I was able to be a part of this amazing opportunity and will forever be grateful to learn so much more about an important issue we still face today.”

-Hannah Dawson, Seneca 360 student

“Working with this team was wonderful. They were detailed, thorough and really took the time to understand and learn about our work and what we were hoping to accomplish. Due to the impact of COVID-19, we unfortunately couldn’t complete our original creative, but the team was able to quickly pivot their thoughts and creative ideas to help us come up with another option that could be completed during the semester that was a better idea than our original creative outline.

Hannah, Charisse and Tim were a dream team to work with. Always communicating, following through on tasks and really understanding and taking feedback during the entire creative process. We are so thankful to them for their support and dedication to this process.”
