JRCC Furniture Depot

Promotional Video

Established in 1985, the JRCC Furniture Depot is the second largest furniture bank in Canada and the only furniture bank in York Region, providing free furniture to families and individuals in need in both northeast Toronto and York Region. They serve as a major support system in poverty reduction, homelessness prevention and basic needs security.

Under the supervision of Tim Abbott of the School of Media, students in the Event & Media Production diploma program, Demid and Kathleen, created a high-quality video complete with actors and voiceovers for the JRCC Furniture Depot. Targeting potential clients, this video demonstrates how the organization helps families in need through their services.

In a second phase of the project, Demid worked on a donor-facing video to help the organization’s fundraising endeavors.

"As an international student, I had an unforgettable opportunity working with Seneca 360 on a commercial video for the JRCC Furniture Depot. Thanks to this project, I got some practice with client negotiations, learned the basics of teamwork in the media industry and also improved my camera and post-editing skills. Seneca 360 gave me a great chance to reveal myself as a videographer and make some money for my study expenses."

-Demid Tumanov, Seneca 360 student

“The Seneca 360 program helped the JRCC Furniture Depot create a wonderful video outlining the work we do in the community. The professors and students we worked with were extremely committed to creating a professional and informative promotional video outlining the services we provide to our clients. This video has already been used on numerous occasions to promote the JRCC Furniture Depot and spread word of the work we do to help many families in need of furniture. We are grateful for having had the opportunity to partner with the hardworking and dedicated people at Seneca 360 and their help in achieving our goals!”
