Subject Description
In this course, students apply knowledge acquired during the program to a project involving actual data in a realistic setting. They will go through different steps of the business analytics process to create business value. Using various techniques like, ways of cleaning-up data, multiple algorithms for analysis and modeling, students will make data-driven decisions to a real business challenge.business decisions.

  1. Apply analytics concepts, methodologies and tools to understand key issues in business.
  2. Search different databases using secondary research to identify the analytics processes used by different industries to understand their needs.
  3.  Analyze, model and solve business problems to achieve data driven decisions and implementation.
  4.  Apply business analytics techniques to identify problems and opportunities and make business recommendations.
  5. Develop a strategic business analytics report that applies the knowledge from previous courses to solve a business challenge.
  6. Create analytical file to evaluate data usefulness in future analysis.
  7. Develop effective analytical techniques to deploy and measure their impact on business solutions.
  8. Create and make engaging presentations of findings to enhance the understanding of recommendations and outcomes.
  9. Develop sustainable analytics solutions to organizational problems that are equitable and inclusive to achieve business success.

Camera Use and Recordings - Synchronous (Live) Classes
Synchronous (live) classes may be delivered in person, in a Flexible Learning space, or online through a Seneca web conferencing platform such as MS Teams or Zoom. Flexible Learning spaces are equipped with cameras, microphones, monitors and speakers that capture and stream instructor and student interactions, providing an in-person experience for students choosing to study online.

Students joining a live class online may be required to have a working camera in order to participate, or for certain activities (e.g. group work, assessments), and high-speed broadband access (e.g. Cable, DSL) is highly recommended. In the event students encounter circumstances that impact their ability to join the platform with their camera on, they should reach out to the professor to discuss. Live classes may be recorded and made available to students to support access to course content and promote student learning and success.
