Authentication and Access Control

Subject Description
Identity verification and access control are crucial to the ability of an organization to protect its assets.  In this course, students learn how to manage the identification and authentication of people and devices, how to implement and manage authorization mechanisms, and how to mitigate access control attacks while ensuring effective IT collaboration with business units.

Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:


  1. Implement identity and access management to secure their environment
  2. Describe the importance of access governance through people, process and technology
  3. Describe how awareness and training will help to have successful Identity and Access Management
  4. Control access to IT resources by implementing identity and access control
  5.  Manage trusts between identity providers and relying parties by building a public key infrastructure
  6. Streamline identity authentication for applications with claims to a trusted environment.
  7. Synchronize identities among disparate authentication stores with an identity manager provider
