Seneca Ombudsperson

Role of an Ombudsperson

The ombudsperson receives and reviews complaints from students in an independent, objective, impartial and confidential manner when all other Seneca resources have been exhausted. The complaints are solved through investigation and mediation rather than formal appeals and grievance procedures.

When to Consult

The ombudsperson can be your last resort, when:

  • The regular channels of appeal have been exhausted and there is still a need to review your complaint, conflict or problem to ensure fairness in the application of Seneca policies and procedures.
  • If you are looking for clarification on how Seneca policy and procedures relate to your situation, the ombudsperson can provide the information.
  • If you feel that you have been unfairly treated, the ombudsperson is here to assist you.

How to Consult

The ombudsperson is accessible and ready to help. To reach the ombudsperson, you can call for an appointment, write a letter, email or leave a confidential voice mail message.
