Seneca’s Student Services Department coordinates the Student Leadership awards, which are presented annually to students in recognition of their leadership qualities in the classroom, on campus or in their local community.
Leadership qualities may include outstanding contributions to student/campus life, leadership roles or excellence in academics. Some past award recipients have demonstrated their leadership on campus by:
- being a peer tutor for students in their program
- assisting at Orientation
- joining the Seneca Student Federation
- attending leadership development workshops
- volunteering for various events
- starting a campus initiative
Outside of Seneca, past award recipients have demonstrated leadership through involvement in organizations like the United Way or Habitat for Humanity, or within their religious community, community centre or organizations, or a cultural agency.
