The start of your first semester is a busy and exciting time. Taking care of the items on this checklist will help you make a smooth transition into college life at Seneca. We’ve even suggested some timelines to help you prioritize tasks.
Arrange Educational Accommodations
Academic Accommodations are available for students with a disability. Contact Counselling and Accessibility Services to make an appointment.
*The earlier you make the appointment, the sooner academic accommodations can be put in place.
Book Your Skills Assessment
The Skills Assessment is a tool to determine academic placement for English and/or math. To view your program’s requirements, other preparatory resources, and our online booking system visit the Skills Assessment website.
Prepare to Pay your fees
Start thinking about how you will pay for your studies. Full tuition for your first term is due on or before the first day of classes.
Sign Up for a Mentor
SMILE Mentoring offers new students an opportunity to connect with a senior student-mentor in their program area who can support them in their transition to college.

Register for Virtual Orientation
Select Your Class Schedule & Pay Your Fees
Select your class schedule by logging into your online Student Centre. To learn how to select your schedule, review Selecting a Class Schedule tip sheet. Check your schedule for possible changes the day before classes start.
Prepare to pay your fees. Full tuition for your first term is due on or before the first day of classes. Payment can be made online through Student Centre.

Enter the Locker Rental Lottery
Lockers are available for rent. They are assigned based on a random lottery system each semester. Enter the lottery.
*One student per locker. Lock is provided by Seneca.
