Career Recharge, presented by TD, is providing professional development opportunities for the Institute of Municipal Assessors.

The Institute of Municipal Assessors (IMA) is teaming up with Seneca HELIX and Career Recharge to offer virtual professional development workshops to GTA members. IMA is Canada’s largest association of property assessment and taxation professionals with a membership of more than 1,250.

“With the pandemic comes opportunities," said IMA District directors Elizabeth Gibson and Sabrina Vizzacchero. “Partnering with Seneca has allowed us to offer our GTA members alternative ’virtual’ learning sessions.”

The first IMA Career Recharge workshop launched earlier this fall, with more than 220 participants.

“We’re hoping to include this [workshop] in additional virtual district meetings,” explained Ms. Vizzacchero. “Everyone really benefitted, and we received great feedback.”

A suite of workshops will be provided to IMA members that can be counted toward their professional development hours. Topics will include conflict resolution, building relationships, design thinking and persuasive ideas.

Seneca and the IMA have enjoyed a strong relationship for nearly 20 years. Since 2002, the IMA have been supporting students and removing barriers through financial aid support. The IMA currently funds two awards each year for deserving students in the Real Property Administration (RPA) program.

In addition to these scholarships, the IMA recognizes RPA students demonstrating potential in the field of property assessment and taxation through the IMA Assessors Recognition Award, for which the winner(s) receive complimentary registration in IMA course IMA-435.
